2006

Theme

Case

The 2006 case company was Danfoss. When revealing the theme of 2006, Rethinking Business, case writer Bjørn Ruwald stated: "This year's theme is not an attempt to create a new buzz word, but rather an effort to turn focus back to basics. Historically, Rethinking Business is a process that has been necessary for companies to stay on top of development and ahead of competition. It is a process that involves rethinking every aspect of the company; one way to get around the entire company is to rethink (or think through) structure, culture, and processes. A complementary approach is to rethink customer groups, customer needs, and core competencies. These approaches are methods that enable one to rethink ones business continuously. Continuously (as opposed to infrequently) rethinking is key to gain competitive advantage.
